SSC CPO 2023

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a Government of India organization that plays a vital role in recruiting personnel for various positions in different government ministries and departments. One of their crucial recruitment programs is the Central Police Organization (CPO).

The CPO exam is conducted to recruit Sub-Inspectors (SI) for the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), such as the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

The exam is divided into two stages, namely Paper I and Paper II. Paper I is a computer-based test that includes multiple-choice questions on General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. Those who qualify for Paper I are eligible for Paper II, a descriptive-type test that evaluates the candidate’s English language proficiency.

Candidates who pass both papers are invited for a Physical Endurance Test (PET) and a Physical Standard Test (PST) to evaluate their physical fitness. Those who clear the PET and PST undergo a medical examination, and the final selection is based on the candidate’s overall performance in all stages of the examination.

Once selected, Sub-Inspectors are assigned to different parts of the country to maintain law and order, prevent and detect crime, and ensure the security of the country.
